Focus Areas

SINGLE WINDOW SERVICE

We would provide a single helpdesk number wherein residents can register complaints for issues ranging from tree pruning, back lane cleaning, water drainage etc. The helpdesk will register and follow-up with the concerned departments and get the work done.

CARE FOR SENIOR CITIZENS

Besides having a regular interaction with all senior citizens, specially those living alone in the colony, we propose to have a Senior Citizens Recreation Center for them.

OFFICE FOR RWA

The Colony needs this since long, located at a convenient place, accessible for residents of all age groups.

CLEANLINESS AND SANITATION

Persistent follow-up with authorities to ensure cleanliness in the entire colony including backlanes.

CITIZEN THINKING GROUP

Members of RWA cannot change everything alone. We propose to have block level monthly meetings to involve more residents on regular basis.

RIGHT TO WALK

We would ensure an encroachment free GK2, wherein residents can walk freely along the roads.

UNREGULATED DIGGING

Seems like anyone with an axe and spade can start digging Gk-2 roads, with no accountability. We propose to work with govt. bodies on a process of RWA approval with agreed completion timeline before initiating any road repair, so that residents are aware of any development work that happens.

CAR THEFTS AND SECURITY

Growing car thefts have been a major cause of concern for all residents. We propose to have a comprehensive plan including entry/exit barricading, CCTV cameras, police bandobasts, citizen awareness groups and other preventive measures including car stickers for all residents’ cars.

RAIN WATER HARVESTING & WASTE MANAGEMENT

We propose to tie up with NGO’s and government agencies for development and maintenance of Rain Water Harvesting Projects. Air Pollution, water scarcity, waste disposal and other such environmental issues are challenging us today. Its time for us to give back to mother nature before its too late. We promise to look into these issues and implement comprehensive practical plans for the betterment of the society.

SOCIAL INTERACTIONS & EVENTS

As technology touches our lives, we are constantly loosing the human touch with our friends. We plan to continue arranging quality events on major festivities like Holi, Diwali, Karwachauth, Dusherra etc. to bring back the good old times you spent with your friends Lets get social again – face to face. We do need better fellowship and neighbourhood.

BETTER TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT

With growing congestions there is a need to relook at the colony traffic plan. With the metro coming up at Savitri, we are headed for a nightmare. We propose to come-up with a detailed plan for traffic management with the authorities and schools management to work for decongestion for smooth traffic flow. We shall take up with authorities to have speed brakers as permitted under law and yet for the safety of the residents.

UPKEEP OF PARKS

GK-2 is proud of its parks and why not !! But we still need better upkeep of these parks with regular pruning of trees and flowering, Bio Toilets in all parks, proper lighting and well levelled walking lanes. We plan to implement sustainable plans for these, with support from private and public bodies. Every park in GK-2 will get members of RWA assigned to them. Dog poo areas shall be developed for dog lovers.

DEALING WITH BUILDERS

We propose to prepare and ensure government guidelines/norms for the builders to follow, to control disruptive activities. Statutory guideline already prepared shall be got enforced as well.

LET KIDS COME OUT AND PLAY

Remember the gully cricket? Cycle gangs and football games we had as kids? We don’t want our kids to be couch potatoes stuck to iPads, TVs and mobiles. We promise to build kids playing areas, cycling tracks and more outdoor facilities backed by regular sporting events round the year.

FOR THE SPECIALLY ABLED

They are an integral part of our society. Team RED would work towards making the parks and walkways in the colony wheelchair friendly and accessible to the specially abled for them to enjoy the outdoors, open spaces and markets.
